
14th Middle East eGovernment and eServices Excellence Awards to highlight key achievements in ICT utilization

Dubai, UAE - As part of its ongoing efforts to promote ICT as an effective tool for national and regional development, the Middle East Excellence Awards Institute is staging the 14th Middle East eGovernment and eServices Excellence Awards ceremony on May 25, 2009 at Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, UAE.
The annual non-profit initiative recognizes pioneering works and outstanding contributions of eGovernment, eBusiness and Information and Communication Technology (ICT) stakeholders in enhancing efficiency, productivity and transparency of government and business transactions. As in previous editions, awards will be conferred on this year's best performers for their innovation, creativity and dedication to service.
Ali Al Kamali, Chairman, Middle East Excellence Awards Institute, elaborates: "The Institute continues to work alongside government and private sectors in recognizing noteworthy achievements in eGovernment and eServices, and encouraging new ways to address the ever-changing needs of customers in the region. Held in conjunction with the 15th Middle East eGovernment and eServices Forum, the awards program focuses on the use of eServices and eCommerce applications by regional organizations to surpass customers' expectations and outperform competitors. Award categories include: eGovernment Best ICT Initiatives Award, ICT Personality Award, eService Provider Organization Award, eGovernment ‘One-Stop-Shop' Portal Award, eBusiness ‘One-Stop-Shop' Portal Award, Online Payment Gateway Award, Information and Knowledge Portal Award, Public Information Portal Award, Sport Organizer Website Award and Professional Sportsman/woman Website Award.
The Awards put the spotlight on persons and organizations often working ‘behind-the-scene' to deliver superior value to customers and other stakeholders. Winners will be presented during a special ceremony to be attended by key officials and practitioners of the region's eGovernment, eBusiness and ICT sectors.
